WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF HAVING A CUSTOM FIT EARPLUG RATHER THAN A GENERIC EARPLUG?
Custom earplugs are made using an impression of the ear and, as such, offer a perfect fit resulting in greater comfort and better performance in most cases.
HOW DO I OBTAIN EAR IMPRESSIONS IN ORDER TO HAVE MY CUSTOM EARPLUGS MADE?
Having ear impressions taken is a simple, painless procedure which takes just a few minutes. If you live close enough to our Stockport office then please make an appointment and call in. If you live further away then we can easily help you make arrangements close to home.
WHY ARE THERE DIFFERENT TYPES OF NOISE PLUGS, SOME WITH FILTERS?
When we speak to customers we try match their individual requirements with the most suitable products available. This means that someone who is trying to block out the sound of snoring will normally wear a plug without a sound filter since they do not need to hear. A musician however has the choice of high quality filters in the ER Series which will allow them to hear music while still being protected from damaging noise levels.
HOW LONG DO CUSTOM EARPLUGS LAST?
Unlike over the counter generic noise plugs our custom earplugs are made from high quality, medical grade silicone and sealed with a NANO anti bacterial coating. In normal use these plugs do not split, harden or change shape. This should allow several years use from each set. Plugs will need to be replaced eventually since the shape of the user’s ear will change over time and this can lead to the user not being fully protected.
HOW LONG WILL MY EARPLUGS TAKE TO BE MADE?
All earplugs in the dB Hearing range are manufactured in our own laboratory. This means we are fully in control of the production process and the finished moulds are normally ready for collection or delivery in around 1 week. We also offer a free of charge fitting service for those who decide to collect.
I WOULD LIKE SOME WATERBARRIERS FOR SWIMMING BUT WILL THEY BLOCK OUT ALL THE NOISE AS WELL?
Since WaterBarrier™ water protection is designed to seal the ears against water ingress there will be a certain amount of sound also blocked from entering the ear. Sound that is heard will be muffled but no ear plug is capable of blocking all sound. Likewise, it is worthwhile noting that no earplugs are capable of blocking 100% of water from entering the ear but custom WaterBarrier™ is known to be one of the most effective ways of protecting the ear from the effects of water.
CAN I USE MY EAR PLUGS FOR MOTORCYCLING AND GOING TO CONCERTS?
Yes you can, the benefit of custom ear protection is that they can be used in many situations where there are high levels of noise and the user still needs to hear sound such as speech, music or be alert to sounds of the road while motorcycling. Mini Ear protects your hearing while still allowing sound to be heard!
